Newborn Care

This class focuses on the practical side of taking care of your newborn baby. It is a hands-on class that allows you to practice in a supportive environment.

We will:

  • practice bathing baby;

  • talk about diapering, both cloth and disposables;

  • use a variety of baby carriers;

  • discuss normal newborn appearance;

  • learn about communication cues your baby may use;

  • discuss baby safety including co-sleeping, cribs, and general car seat guidelines;

  • get to know signs of illness in newborns; and

  • introduce you to different community resources.
